Placing
Google Adsense at strategic points is very vital when thinking of improving your
earnings in the program. You need to place the ad units where your visitors can
easily view and click them.
Ordinarily,
the Blogger platform allows you to place Google Adsense as one of the possible
gadgets. You can place the ads below blog tiles or by the side bar. You can
also place them in-between blog post.
In
any case, one of the best areas to place ad units in Blogger platform is
directly below page titles. You can attract more clicks if you succeed in
placing the ads under page titles. Another place to put the ad units is below posts.
Given
below are practical steps to take:
·
Go to your Google Adsense account and create
new ad units. You can use the 336x280 Large Rectangles or the 300x250 Medium
Rectangle, They are known to be doing very well.
· After getting the ad code, you have to parse
it before using it on your blog. To parse the code, you have to copy it into any
of the websites that offer HTML parsing service. There are many of them out
there. I recommend this site http://blogcrowds.com/resources/parse_html.php.
Just copy the code into the box and click “Parse”.
·
Once you’ve parsed the code, copy and paste it
on a Word Pad or Word document.
·
Go to your blogger dashboard, click “Template”. Then, click “Edit
HTML”
·
Look for this line “<data:post.body/>”. Just
press “Ctrl + F”. Then past “<data:post.body/>” into the small box to search for it. You can
be pressing “Enter” to check for the line. You’ll see “<data:post.body/>” in 3 places. You have to use the 3rd
option.
·
To place the ad unit below page titles, just copy and
paste the parsed code above “<data:post.body/>”.
·
To place the ad unit below
blog post, just copy and paste the parsed code below “<data:post.body/>”.
·
Before you save the template, click “Preview
template” to check whether you got everything right.
·
If you everything is ok, you’ll see the
ads below page tiles and below blog posts. You’ll also see your blog appear well.
However, sometimes, the ad units may show blank space but, they will still
show.
·
If you can’t see your normal blog or you
made some mistakes, you can revert the changes. All you need is to click “Revert Changes”
·
If you’re satisfied with the appearance,
you can go ahead to save your templates. Just click “Save template”.
